PFH Values
Soybean oil may be cheaper (side eye to some well-known brands selling rosemary hair oil), but we use high quality oils that absorb and protect, won't cause buildup, and are more resistant to oxidation.
Products are made with love in Oregon.

what is a pre-shampoo oil?
Every time you shampoo, your hair absorbs water. Wet hair is temporarily weaker and more fragile, and repeated saturation can make strands more vulnerable to mechanical stress during washing, friction from lathering, detangling, and rinsing.
Over time, this cumulative handling of hair in its weakest state can contribute to cuticle damage, dullness, and breakage. Fine hair, with fewer cuticle layers and less structural mass, can be more susceptible to this kind of mechanical stress.
This cycle of repeated water absorption and drying is commonly referred to as hygral fatigue. While the exact mechanism is still studied in hair science, what is well established is that wet hair is significantly weaker than dry hair, and that reducing how much water the strand absorbs during washing can help protect it.
Applying an oil before shampooing may reduce swelling and help protect hair proteins during the wash process, providing a layer of lubrication before your hair is exposed to the mechanical stress of cleansing. It rinses clean with your shampoo, leaving no residue. Just hair that's better protected with every wash.
This is also why the pre-shampoo step works differently than applying oil after washing. Post-wash oils do functional work too, reducing friction and adding surface protection. But pre-shampoo oils work specifically during the wash process, when hair is at its most vulnerable.
why these ingredients?
Not all oils behave the same way on fine hair. Heavy oils tend to sit on the surface of the strand rather than conditioning effectively, which leads to buildup and the weighed-down feeling fine-haired people know all too well.
Both revive and nourish are formulated around oils selected specifically for their light feel, clean rinse, and compatibility with fine hair.
Jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax ester, which makes it structurally similar to the sebum your scalp naturally produces. It forms a lightweight conditioning film on the strand without leaving a heavy residue.
Fractionated coconut oil is valued for its exceptionally light texture and stability. Unlike standard coconut oil, it stays liquid at room temperature and rinses cleanly without contributing to buildup.
Grape seed oil is one of the lightest carrier oils available and is high in linoleic acid, which supports the scalp's natural lipid barrier.
Argan oil, found in nourish, is rich in fatty acids and adds softness and shine through surface lubrication without weight.
Vitamin E acts as a natural antioxidant, helping protect the oil blend from oxidation.
revive also contains rosemary, lavender, and peppermint oils. Rosemary has a long history of use in scalp care and is commonly studied for its potential to support a healthy environment for hair to thrive. Lavender and peppermint contribute to scalp comfort and the sensory experience of the treatment. The light tingle and clean scent are intentional, not incidental.
None of these ingredients are fillers. Every oil in both formulas was chosen because it contributes something specific to how the product performs on fine hair.
